India has PPF/PF and that money will go in you PPF/PF account, its not a black hole, infact it pays the highest interest and its secure. its very easy to get money out of your PF account. i took it out of my PPF account before i came to the US and promptly spent all :)its another topic that SS repatriation will never be approved, especially retroactively.
I do not know in which city of India you took out your PPF.,

Clear IE/Firefox temp cache to view refreshed page. I had to do it (pressing F5 20 times did not make a difference). The dates are now updated to July 16, 2007.

1. In your office, you are actually working for your boss and you are getting paid to do what they want you to do. I don't remember getting any pay check from IV. In fact, I have written several checks to IV. This doesn't mean I can post whatever I want but as long as I am following IV guidelines, I shouldn't get harassed by folks like you who think that their post is the only important post.
2. If you don't do what you are told at work, they'll fire your a&& and you wouldn’t know how to pay your bills next month. That's why the CEO or your boss don't have to send you a one liner before they take any decision.
As far as I know, IV is just a group of people coming together to address a problem which is shared by all members. I know that some people have worked harder than others and some people have contributed more than others but everyone has contributed one way or the other. May be it's time you wake up and smell the coffee.

Otherwise, both petitioner and employee are de-frauding by not paying (employer) and not reporting (employee).

For couple of weeks in 2001, when I was getting H1 transfer, I was without pay. I applied H1 transfer before old H1 expired, but got the receipt notice after few weeks and only after that I started working. Am I out of status ?
For that matter, is it out of status if one gets paid from 2 companies with
2 H1bs ? If one is on bench but getting paid by one company, starts working with 2nd company on new H1b?
2 weeks is not an issue .You can always claim upto maybe a month or 2 as vacation and if your last date of entry is after 2001 , even that doesnt matter

Let us see how many IV folks are in this boat. It is really unfortunate that you guys have had to wait. I think there are others who may have applied later in EB3 and due to different state labor, they got their GC in a couple of years. Now they maybe preparing for citizenship while you are still waiting for greencard. The labor backlogs have created this situation.

That's was his/her problem. If the person have not notified the USCIS about the job change, everything would've been fine :) I am not going to argue with you. If one of hundreds thousand cases had an issue, it does not mean we have to rush and file AC21 every time we change a job. That will just create more work for the USCIS and increase our chances for RFE/denials. That's my opinion. You are entitled to yours. BTW, I changed jobs and did not file anything. No problems.

I have not used AC21 and am not planning to use it. Although it is easier for me because I am a Registered Nurse and it is easy for me to port from one hospital to another. My strategy is different though. I am not leaving my sponsor and just working for another hospital in my free time.

Its a good thing, hope this will lessen the abuse of the visas by these Indian companies. As I mentioned in another thread, I have seen that H1 and L1s who come from India dont get a very good salary. Not good.
I think they have to pay the minimum wage as declared in their petition.
But I doubt whether they even send those employees on assignments. I guess they process these H1s as a carrot to retain the employees or to preprepared for any future assignments (they may not even come and the visas are never used)...
Wish there is a different category of visas for outsourced kind of work so that H1s can be used by America based companies and H1 is not seen in such a bad light.
