You have some very valid points about community (non)participation in your post.
I understand your point about having another rally. Make no mistake - IV core has no problems with planning and conducting another rally. So it's not a big issue to get them to agree. I can push IV core, and get another rally. Bigger issue is how many are going to turn up? If it's just 100-200 of us same-old folks, there is no point.
Last year when we were bouyed by the success of July VB reversal, it was estimated that at least 10,000 would turn up. But, only 2000 did. I don't know how many will, if we hold another few months from now?
IV can sponsor more ACTION (items). But what's point, if there is not enough participation? First step is the community needs to step up and make existing action items such as FOIA requests for backlog numbers, AC21 action items successful. This will motivate IV to launch more action items. No organization would want to be seen running too many campaigns with liitle or no community participation.
We need the IV core team and the administrator to guide some big rally's. Guys nothing will happen until we are bold about our intentions.
I noticed everyone comes up with their different ideas, but no one works to implement it. We need to stand together and do something big, when was the last time we had a big rally?

It is so easy
Take a good picture in good lighting with regular digital camera
Crop the picture to square size as needed
Open it in photoshop -- make picture package - select 2x2 of 20 pics -- and save it.
Again crop it with the ratio or 4x6 selecting six pictures.
Now u have a picture which is 4x6 in size with total of six 2x2 pp size pics in it.
go to walmart - at kiosk print it... for 24 cents per copy

and again pics are of your liking ..
in between you can edit to remove shadows easily

The photos I got from CVS was not bright enough. So the guy brightened the photos for me. Now the photos look a little touched up ...

I guess MOST of the people are concerned about the quality of photos than $ spent. My friend had RFE because the photos he got from CVS were not upto USCIS specifications. So any + experience is valuable to the forum.

if you have seen my other posts on this subject, you would not have said what you did. I am an IT consultant, and, have in the past received multiple offers for labor sub, but, not taken it as I am comfortable with what I am doing.
I have also personally known people who used labor sub in companies that are listed on the NASDAQ and are involved in Software development (not one of the mom and pop consulting companies)
All I was doing by playing the devil's advocate is trying to deflect the heat of the person who started this thread. I will repeat myself once again. I understand that as a practice it borders on being unfair. However, if it is being used by someone legally, to better their own life, we should not come out and attack them.
Now to answer your question - "Would you do it? If yes why and if no why not". Would I do it? Yes I would if I got an offer from a great company with a well defined career path, good salary and stock and benefits etc.
Would I do it to go from one consulting company to other by paying someone money for it? NEVER. I hope this answers your question.

I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs. We don't have any such resource. So I don't think IV not getting enough donations can be blamed on IV users.
I have donated as much as I can without getting my budget in jeopardy with all the mortgage , taxes, "health insurance " .medicare, car payments etc etc that we have to deal with.
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants considering the mood of the people in the Congress . No one would like to hurt their political career with voting for us in the Congress. The politicians do only lip service whether for illegal or legal immigrant bills. They have zero interest in seeing them passed in the Congress.

Lou believes in quoting no facts, just bullishly repeating such views. Nobody who disagrees can ever get a word in. I am a specialist physician with multiple degrees and board certifications. I practice in underserved communities, speak fluent English and pay my taxes. My visa status is and always has been legal. Do I meet the Lou standards? I am waiting in an endless line for a green card that keeps me at the bottom based on my country of birth. So much for Lou's cheap labor! I see this all the time. An RFE for one thing (usually like yours - accreditation of the PGD or Masters degree) and then a denial based on the 3 year bachelor's. I tell clients to cover the bachelor's degree when they get the first RFE.
With regards to the Masters equivalency - USCIS has objected to the Masters if preceded by a 3 year bachelor's degree. However, properly evaluated with reference to an unpublished AAO decision (not legally binding on its own but very powerful) we have seen these cases approved.
The link to the AAO decision for the 3+1 being equivalent to a US bachelor's degree is NOT relevant. In that case the 1 year bachelor in education required the 3 year bachelor for admission so it was not considered combining. Much like an associates degree is required for admission to a bachelor's degree so that is not combining. (We use that theory when working with a 2 year bach + 2 year masters, generally from PK).
If you want I can review the case for you at www.cciFree.com - you can file an MTR. And if you end up in the appeals office the previous AAO decision should hold up there.

Why the heck is USCIS bothered about your bachelors when your Labor clearly says Masters required? I think you have a strong case since the RFE did not mention anything about your bachelors. What is your attorney saying? why didnt your ed evaluator mention anything about your bachelors? Will it help if you could evalute your qualifications from another agency, wherein they could prove that you had enough credits and class hours in your bachelors to be equal to US 4 yr courses?
I am sure there are many helpful folks on this forum who could also guide you on your case. They may have had first hand experience in such situations. Do keep us posted.

Nicely said! You just reminded us, what all of us often forget, that we are Indians by birth and are here for various personal/professional reasons.
I always wondered how NRIs end up comparing both countries.USA and India are in different stages of evolution. Remember India attained independence only in 1947 unlike USA which had independence since 200plus years.
Being such a young country and depleted of most of it's rich natural resources by constant invaders for centuries together, it is just gathering it's strength back.
Progress in India is palpable at every level of society compared to a decade or two back. But burdened with heavy population, it's trying to turn it's weakness into a strength! The very fact that we hear India's name all the time in various news channels and especially CNBC makes me think that world is noticing!
So many of us are so confident to live anywhere in the world with the education we recieved in India.
It's OK to praise other countries for what they achieved but please don't belittle India. I don't see anyother countrymen being cynical about their country of birth like we Indians!!

Dear friends, why do you seek to start bashing your country at the first opportunity you get. THere are people in the Indian Govt who are negotiating on your behalf to make sur you get your money back.
THen on the question of paying bribes to get money out of PPF - something is better than nothing. Why complain. If it is so bad, go back and fight to fix the system, otherwise stop maoning. India is the only country that will welcome you if you are kicked out of here. I remember i used to pay 50 INR per ticket for a railway seat, now i go online and book a ticket. Things change they take time and patience.
Only those people who have NEVER bribed anyone to get stuff done illegally, or out of turn should speak. And i know there is no one, since you are in US and came on a passport and we all know how passports are obtained.
You left india, want to stay away, so leave it alone. When you are kicked out of everywhere, the doors will still be open, just keep some cash for the gatekeeper.
Lets discuss whether this swap will be possible or not, or what the loopholes are.

Or get a person to translate it into Chinese and put it up in Ranch 99 - Milpitas, berkley, Fremont, Sanjose ? Ranch 99 is a popular place among chinese network to buy vegetables and well networked among chinese !
I am assuming there must be similar network of Chinese Shops in other cities !. I am going to ask students from china to post it in their internal mail aliases for wide coverage !

I'm done. I posted whatever I had on WhiteHouse.gov and wrote to my Senator. I think the strength is in numbers - so the effectiveness of this depends on the number of people that write in - Even if people dont include their personal stories, just the fact that you will include your address when you write to your senator makes it personal. Just my 2 cents!!!

Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
