I'd suggest putting "2Gn iPod Shuffle" in future articles to avoid confusion.
There's already enough confusion about the whole GB vs Gb thing, I suggest we drop the whole "G = Generation" thing and just write "gen." already (acronym for generation).
And since software works in versions, how about "iPod shuffle v2" if "2nd gen. iPod shuffle" is too long to type?

why mr has large gay/bi members?
However large, the size of my member has nothing to do with this.
The irony of a forum with a very large gay and bisexual membership to ask for blood donations is beyond ridiculous.
Think this through, MacRumors, think this through.
Perhaps MacRumours could encourage its "disenfranchised" members to show up for donations, and protest being prevented from donating. If the Red Cross workers in the field get a sense for the numbers of potential donors that are being turned away, maybe that will trickle up to the policy makers.
During the height of the AIDS crisis the motto "Silence=Death" was used by some of the protestors. Anytime it's "Silence=<NoEqualRights>", those disenfranchised and their supporters should make noise. Silence supports the status quo - speak up for change when the status quo is discriminatory.
The Red Cross policy is wrong, and not scientifically or socially defensible.

I didn't get a 4 because I was holding out for a bigger screen. I really want to keep buying Apple products. But at this point, if the phone is delayed or the screen is staying the same size, I am going to have to start checking out some of the HTCs. My 3G is almost unusable since OS4.

REALLY? You're going to throw a 3 and 4 year old phone into the argument? Fine. How many old Android phones can run all the available apps. Heck, how many Android phones less than a year old run all the apps available?
I am in no way sticking up for Android. I think its fragmentation is worse than what exists on iOS. I was just pointing out that iOS is also fragmented, in its own way. To be honest, iPads can run every app available in the App Store, but an iPhone/iPod Touch can't (the gotcha that iPad Only apps won't run on the other devices).

I've argued with Christians on a similar point. Shouldn't they allow the killers to have the rest of their natural lives to accept Jesus as their savior? And by executing them, we're saying to Jesus, "in your face! We decide, not you!"
Logic has no bearing on this discussion. I would ask you to refrain from such nonsense.
Why?
A rope, chair and ceiling hook should be provided, on the chance that you don't like the accomodations.

Nope. If you don't like it, life sucks.

Well..
I'd like to see BR players or HD-DVD players becoming standard at right price just like DVD players.
However, I don't see BR or HD-DVD as my backup media.
I'd rather use several external hard disk due to cheap price/ gig and easy of use.
I wonder how long does it take to burn a BR (or HD-DVD) with that new version of Toast
  :D
It use to be more than an hour for burning a DVD (x1) of 4 GB...

Oh, well boo-hoo that it costs $100m to make a peice of crap movie. Some of the best films of the last ten years have been smaller, independent productions with budgets less than $20m. So, how about you all stop wasting your money and focus on story and character rather than big marketing campaigns to convince people that there's anything at all redeeming about the over-hyped ************ you release.
And on that tip, think about this big studios: If you're getting $8-$12 in sheer profit for a movie download, there's a good chance this money is coming from someone who may not have paid at all, as people who currently steal movies from the internet, already download them. There's an incentive there to get something high quality and that is cheaper than buying the retail boxed product.
Also, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but you big studios are actually cutting out one of the middle-men in partnering with apple, as Apple becomes both distributor and retailer. Right? So, less mark-ups for other people - no packaging, shipping costs, no big displays for online downloads. That's going to save you money too.
So, basically, stop whining.
Michael Winterbottom's Tristram Shandy... yeahhhhhhhhhhh.

It's sad that we live in a society where actors, pop/rap stars, sports stars, etc. get paid mega bucks while professions like "school teacher" get paid peanuts.
I agree, it is sad. But it is simple economics i'm afraid.
There is only one Tom Cruise or Jay-Z, so the supply of the 'talents' they bring to any project is massively small against a seemingly large demand, hence a huge fee is commanded.
Mr X the Schoolteacher, however, has no such bargaining power as there's a relatively large supply of people who could do the job.

100% agree macs do not belong to ENTERPRISE environment.
i was working as IT admin in the past in EU, all Windows, UNIX, Linux.
however, as a personal computer it blows away the XP and W7. If personal prefers it, MACs should be allowed as clients on Windows based Enterprise networks if required. Creative dept. for example.
PROS:
• ease of use
• FW and TARGET disc mode features.
• Easy of grabbing a cropped screenshot
• Some smart application design, ease of sharing files, great solid networking (10.6.5)
• expose!
• great dashboard design
• best straigtforward backup system built into the OS
• COLOR coding files and folders !!!
• and other i cannot thing of right now
• ctrl + alt + apple +8
CONS:
• HW price
• short lived OSX support
as personal computer it's a better choice for me, i switched in 2005 and never looked back. at Work we have W7 and MAC mini server for file sharing. BUT again, it's not for Enterprise solution, no doubt about it.

Hi All,
First off I am new here, so Hi again
I have a small problem getting Microsoft Outlook 2001 to use my 2003 Exchange server. I have to admit I am new to macs and am finding it a little hard to do anything but I am trying.
From what I can tell is that for some reason my the mac will not resolve the server name to an ip address. I mean when I look in the Outlook settings, under services --> properties if I place the servers IP address there and then the user name and then 'check the name' it resolves the name of the server and under lines the user name (which as far as I am concerned has worked).
Yet when I then launch Outlook I get a message saying folders could not be opened. The attempt to log on to the server failed..... Microdoft Outlook could not be started. The attempt to log on to the MS Exchange Server failed....................
What I have done so far:-
Updated the /etc/hosts file and added the ip address for the server (can ping both IP and name from the console and network util)
When in Outlook settings --> properties and user the server name instead of the IP address and try and check name I get an error.. The name could not be resolved. Network problems are preventing connection to the MS Exchange Server, Contact your system adminsitrator (me).
Sorry for the long post but this is a real problem. Any help would be much appreciated.
Ian
PS The only thing I can sort of think of at the moment is that Outlook starts I think in classic mode??? I am not sure if this starts a new shell and therefore ignores the /etc/hosts file and that is the reason why it can not resolve the server name. If I am right my next question would be where is the hosts file for the classic enviroment??

Hello,
Where can I see my two and a half year old Sony HDR-HC7 Camcorder? I tried Craigslist but all I'm getting is people trying to scam me. I"m trying eBay at the moment but it isn't working. What do you people suggest I do? Would anyone here want it?
